BEVERLY
Brooklyn based Beverly returns with new single “Crooked Cop,” a dreamy allegory about deceit and confusion.
In the summer of 2014, Beverly released “Careers,” a breakout debut album that combined raw pop, post-punk and dreamy melodies. Led by vocalist and guitarist Drew Citron, the band toured across the US and Europe supporting the Drums, as well as playing sold out headlines dates in their hometown of New York. The new album takes a bolder turn, with Citron enlisting new collaborators including noise pop producer Scott Rosenthal (The Beets, Crystal Stilts) and Kip Berman (The Pains of Being Pure at Heart). Crooked Cop is the first taste from the upcoming sophomore album out in spring 2016.
Beverly is attending SXSW 2016.
ELISA AMBROGIO
As vocalist and lead guitarist for band Magik Markers, Elisa Ambrogio is known for her compelling live performance, thoughtful lyrics and singular guitar style. In October 2014 Drag City released Elisa’s debut solo album The Immoralist and the work garnered praise from around the globe for its dreamy intimacy and melodic hooks. Ambrogio’s solo work is a different musical animal, with its own properties and compulsions, deftly combining elements of drone, noise, and confectionary bedroom pop. The debut single from the album, the undeniably catchy ‘Superstitious’ was listed by Pitchfork as one of the top 100 tracks of 2014, featured on NPR’s All Songs Considered, and showcased in the Guardian’s Americana song picks. Since the release of The Immoralist, Elisa has toured the U.S. extensively and begun work on her second solo recording to be released by Drag City Records in 2015.
