Onna: I know you sung over a mixed recording during the studio session, who makes these mixes? Do you direct them on what you are looking for?

Devyn: I sang over an instrumental and my guitar player enhanced some of the sounds live.. I work with a few awesome producers who send me a few beats to chose from and I select the ones that move me the most.

Onna: Who are your major influences- both musically and non-musically?

Devyn: My major influences musically are Bone Thugs N Harmony and Whitney Houston. Non-Musically, I’d say Steve Jobs and Floyd Mayweather.

Onna: Would you ever like to collaborate with artists in the future? If so, who and why?

Devyn: Yes! I’d love to work with 2 Chainz, Fetty Wap, Dej Loaf, Tink, The Weeknd and Drake to name a few, I could go on and on… simply because they inspire me and I LOVE their work.

Onna: How has your music evolved since you first began making music?

Devyn: I came a very long way – my sound, style and image weren’t as developed as they are now – I can officially say I found my sound and I’m in my own lane.

Onna: What has been your biggest challenge as a musician? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

Devyn: My biggest challenge when I didn’t know any better was trying to get people to believe in me, work with me, support, me, you name it. Some days are great, and some days aren’t. I’ve just learned to not let any roadblocks or downfalls define or stop me. I’ve also learned not to chase people and to do my own thing. I have this dream and goals that I want to accomplish and regardless of what I go through or who’s there to support, I will continue to stay positive and focused on the prize.

Onna: What are your plans for the near future? Any tours coming up?

Devyn: I will be doing some big shows early next year and I’m also releasing a lot of new music! For updates, please visit my website.
